Jim Kimberly
Jim Kimberly, President of Sapphire Consulting

Jim has more than 30 years of business and consulting experience in healthcare,
organizational development, and leadership coaching. He works closely with clients providing both individual and team coaching services. He coaches clients at all levels, including managers/directors, VP’s, C-suite and founders, to enhance influence, communication and other key skills to achieve better results.

Jim offers particular expertise in emotional intelligence and coaching skills; helping leaders recognize their strengths, read the emotions of others and respond in culturally appropriate ways to increase performance. Additionally, he specializes in helping organizations select the best talent to fulfill their critical leadership roles.

Jim consults with organizations on strategic planning, succession planning and talent management strategies. He has specialized in advising family owned firms and their boards on assessing their leaders and recommending appropriate development opportunities.

Jim previously served as Vice President of Sales and Business Development for several behavioral healthcare companies and designed and implemented Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) and managed care initiatives. He also coordinated the organizational development and consulting division.

Jim has worked with firms in the healthcare, financial services, publishing, high technology, automotive, construction, insurance, non-profit, pharmaceutical, oil and gas, education, retail, government, professional services, utilities, aerospace and defense industries.

Jim has a BA in Sociology/Anthropology from Ripon College and a Master of Social Work from SUNY Buffalo. He certified to work with several assessment and 360 instruments.

  • EQi 2.0™ and EQ360™

    The EQi 2.0 is intended to help individuals, teams and organizations better understand the impact of emotional and social functioning. The EQi Reports contains graphs demonstrating overall emotional and social functioning, and breakouts of five critical composites or domains: Self-Perception, Self-Expression, Interpersonal, Decision Making, Stress Management

    There are 15 sub scales that offer very focused information about specific skills within each of the five domains. The EQi 2.0 also provides several pages of text that describe the results, their application in business and potential areas of focus for the participant. This text offers general information that can act as talking points for discussion.

    Individual and Group reports help teams see where they need to improve and develop. They offer suggestions for development strategies and tips in targeted skill areas. These tips are action-oriented and provide a quick and effective means of initiating improvements.

  • Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team™

    The Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team™ was developed by Wiley in partnership with Patrick Lencioni, the author of the New York Times Best-Seller, “The Five Dysfunctions of a Team”.

    The Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team™ is a team-building program that involves an online personal assessment and team survey to be taken by each member of a team, followed by a series of classroom sessions focused on five areas of competence:

    Trust
    Conflict
    Commitment
    Accountability
    Results

    These areas of competence are looked at in conjunction with either a DiSC or All Types profile, yielding a rich description of the team’s motivations and capacities. Each team member receives a customized report that helps them navigate to becoming a stronger team member.

  • Executive Coaching

    Executive coaching is about making a difference in how you lead yourself and others. It is about making changes to some aspects of your leadership and leaving other things alone. It is about examining your leadership skills with an open mind and willingness to understand yourself more deeply. For many of us, it means facing some leadership qualities that we would rather ignore. That’s okay, better now than never. It is about listening, learning and taking action.
